What’s The Deal With Crisis Pregnancy Centers
Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) are fake heath clinics funded and operated by anti-abortion religious organizations. They are designed to trick pregnant people considering abortion by posing as full-service women’s health clinics.
They aim to prevent abortions by:
not even mentioning abortion as an option,
persuading people to choose adoption or parenting using shame and intimidation
lying about safety of abortion
lying about the cost abortion
lying about legality of abortion
giving patients fake ultrasounds and fake “due dates”
calling themselves confusing names like “Pregnancy Care Center” or “Family Resource Center”
standing outside of actual health clinics and ushering patients to the CPC.
CPCs are set up near legitimate full-service reproductive health clinics to intercept women with unintended pregnancies who might be considering abortion.
